Watching college students who spend their days immersed in the Arabic language got me thinking: why not run a workshop to add Arabic words to Wikikamus (Malay Wiktionary), the free online dictionary?

That idea became reality on 16th September 2026, when we held a workshop for students at KUIZM. KUIZM is an Islamic studies institution which located at Batu Caves, Selangor.
Close to 30 students showed up, and together they added nearly a thousand Arabic words with Malay translations, to Wikikamus.
A big thank you to the Wikimedia Community User Group Malaysia and KUIZM for supporting the event, and to the dedicated Wikikamus volunteers who worked hard behind the scenes to make it happen.
To all the participants: welcome to Wikikamus & Wikimedia! Here’s hoping you’ll keep sharing your knowledge with the public for years to come.
